Internships in Beijing
Being an intern in Beijing and working abroad is not only an incredible opportunity to give your CV an extra boost that will make you stand out, but also a lot of fun. In addition to gaining great work experience you will discover the capital of China, 5,000 years of history and it’s fascinating culture. You will make friends from all over the world, explore Beijing’s incredible night life and dive into what is one of the world’s fastest growing and changing countries.
The Internships
Internships can last from one to six months and will give you work experience in the industry of your choice. You will be trained on the job by your company. Mandarin is not required for being placed in the internship program, however you will need to be able to speak English fluently and be open to a very new working culture. Companies in Beijing usually require 40 hours of work per week and have Saturdays and Sundays off. During your internship you will be part of the LTL intern and student community and have full access to all LTL community events, support and our popular Friday night after work drinks.
The Companies
Based on each applicant’s requirements and qualifications we place interns in a very wide variety of companies ranging from multinational corporations like Daimler Benz or Microsoft to small and fast growing start-ups that are planning to disrupt the world. From consultancy to apprenticeships and trainee programs you could work at a clinic with international doctors receiving medical training to working in the marketing department of a Chinese company that wants to conquer the international market. The opportunities are endless.
Internship Program – The Application Process
As a first step send us an email to let us know what you are looking for, tell us a bit more about yourself and ask any questions you might have. You will have a reply from your personal internship advisor within less than a working day. As the next step your internship advisor will organize a Skype or WhatsApp interview with you. During the interview we will go through your resume together, discuss the different internship, accommodation, visas and Chinese courses options. Then it is time for you to decide on the dates, program options and sign up for the Beijing internship program. Your internship advisor will then organize Skype interviews for you with suitable companies until we have found the right internship position for you. After that you will receive your contract, visa invitations, accommodation details and book your flights. And that’s it – you are ready to fly to China and start your internship.
